The Year In Books: January 2018.
For years I have been following Laura's blog www.circleofpinetrees.com (promise I will learn how to put the link in for the next post) and each month she wrote about what book she was reading and going to read for the coming month. So January last year I decided I would join her #theyearinbooks challenge which is in its fifth year I think this year. There is a monthly twitter chat and if you search the hashtag on Instagram you can see what other books people from all over are enjoying. Last year I read 14 books, I found it a great excuse to slow down and take some me time each day to read and because I had set the challenge to write about it I had to read a book a month.
This year I am going to do the same so here is my January pick. I came across Lucinda Riley's Seven sisters stories last Christmas and after the first ten pages of the first book I was hooked. During the year I listened to the other two in the Seven sister series on Audible and when the next one came out in November I had to get it. This one I saved to have over the Christmas break to read and like the others it didn't disappoint. There are over 600 pages in each book but I had it read in a little under two weeks, it gripped me from the start and like the others I am still sorry its over. These are a series of books that do not need to be read in order as each is a stand alone story but they are a story that will stay with you long after you have finished. This is my January pick but I have already finished it that's how much I enjoyed it.
If you would like to join in with this you can follow the #theyearinbooks hashtag on Twitter or Instagram and share the books you are reading or if you have a blog you can share it there.
