The Year In Books 2018: March and April.

The Year In Books 2018: March and April.

Drums Of Autumn, Diana Gabaldon

it's the middle of April already, where is the year going? . This is two months of books in one because my time to blog has been scarce lately but I have been reading a lot. The last month I wrote about books was February and that was The Guilty Wife by Elle Croft which was really good I had it finished in a couple of weeks.

So for March and April I have actually read three books and am now reading my fourth. One advantage of lambing season is late night checks on ewes which gave me loads of time to read. Last year I used that time to sleep but this year I read. I started March reading The Tattooist Of Auschwitz by Heather Morris and at the moment it's 11.07 euro on The Book Depository. This is a book I read in a week, it gave me chills to read and stayed with me weeks after I read it. It's the story of the prisoner in Auschwitz who's job it was to tattoo the numbers on everyone else's arms. It tells the story of when he met his future wife when she was brought there and all they had to endure. This is a book everyone should read it's a must.

The next was a book that was recommended to me by a person I work with. At first I wasn't so sure about it, a woman who travels through some stones back to the 1740's?? . I am not a huge fan of historical fiction and one with time travel I thought was a little far fetched. How wrong was I !!. I started reading the first book in Diana Gabaldon Outlander series and oh my god I was gripped, two books later, the whole series watched on Amazon prime and I still can't get enough. These books are the story of Frank and Claire Randell who have spent the last five years apart as Claire worked as a nurse in World War 1. They are reunited after the war ends and head to Scotland for a second honeymoon and a chance to get to know each other again. while there they visit some standing stones and Claire goes back on her own and manages to travel through the stones  back to 1740. This is where the story really starts, I couldn't put this book down and the second in the series as well, I had them read in weeks. I didn't read the third in the series because I watched all three series on Amazon Prime video and each series is one book.

I am now reading book four as this won't be out to watch till September or later and I have also bought books five and six. I think these will be my top reads of 2018 I am obsessed and after watching the series men in kilts are very, very hot !. The first book in the series is called Outlander. I get most of my books from The book depository because they are normally a little cheaper than a book shop and there is free delivery world wide, they can be a little slow to deliver at times so order well before you are wanting to read a book.

So there are my reads for the last two months and they are all so good which will probably ruin me for the rest of the year. If you would like to join in with the year in books you can follow the hashtag on twitter and Instagram theyearinbooks . You can also head to Laura's blog Circle of pine trees she started the year in books.

What are you reading at the moment?
