New Year Beauty Favourites.
So this is a totally different post to my normal but I wanted to start sharing a little more with you about my life and I wanted to start with some current beauty favourites. I love wearing a little bit of make up everyday to work but I am no expert. I am not a fan of fussy make up routines that takes tonnes of brushes and equipment to try sort out my face. I love things that are simple, don't make me feel under pressure like you need a degree to use them and ones that actually work. I like things uncomplicated so I wanted to share some of my current favourites that won't break the bank at all.
The first thing I want to share is a new foundation I just happened to pick up because I had gone fed up in Boots looking at all the bottles and shades. The name also caught my eye because who at 40 doesn't want healthy skin ? . For a while now I have been using Olay Total effects tinted moisturiser and it dried out my skin like an old boot so it had to go. I also had a few different things coming up that required a little more make up so a new foundation was needed. I love this from Max Factor , I have been using it just about daily since December and it has a nice even coverage. The shade I use is beige and it wasn't expensive, it's not drying on the skin and has SPF 20 in it.
The next thing is a sample size Clarins wonder perfect mascara. For Christmas the farmers got me a gift set of Clarins products and this was in it. I was not gifted with eyelashes, they are short and scarce but this has changed them. I have never used a mascara as good and I have used loads this in my books even beats Benefits rollerlash mascara hands down. It makes my lashes full and thick with out weighing them down. It also doesn't end up down my face as the day goes by and when I don't take off my make up before bed it still looks like I have just applied it when I get up. Whenever this little sample size runs out I will be heading to the chemist to get a full size. I am not sure how much it costs, it possibly isn't the cheapest but it is really good.
The last things is a good red lipstick, it doesn't matter what one once it's a nice rich red. The one in the photo is an old one by Rimmel that isn't made anymore. There is just something about a red lipstick that makes you feel ready for anything.
