How I Found The World Of Slow Living.
This is my little corner of slow in our house, it's where on the sunny day's the sun shines in and warms the chair, it's where I like to read wrapped up in a cosy blanket, drink my coffee and relax. It's one place I go to slow my day down. My life is a fairly busy one, my day's consist of jumping from the many roles I take on at any given time. I could be a farmer, mother, chef, house keeper, teacher, problem solver, advice giver to any other amount of roles all on the same day. I spent a lot of my time, no actually all of my time chasing my tail, constantly forgetting things I was suppose to do, always telling our youngest who is only seven that I was too busy to listen or play with him. I was drained, exhausted and fed up. I was a busy fool.
I started to question what I was doing and that was when I happened one evening while looking at Instagram to find a book called The Little Book Of Hygge by Meik Wiking. The whole Idea of Hygge fascinated me and of course I ordered the book and a few more after I had read that one. How had I not heard of Hygge or slow living, why hadn't someone told me about this little gem before now?. I was hooked and still am, slow living has helped me be more productive than I have ever been, it's shown me again the importance of taking time out even if it's only ten minutes to have a coffee and it's one of the main things I want to share with you all as this blog grows.
I was a person constantly chasing my tail, now don't get me wrong I still have totally mental days and slow living is not the cure all for your stress or pressure but it can help you find those extra few minutes in your day or finding and being present for those special moments in your day. So over the coming months I will share what I have learned so far and you can also sign up for my monthly slow living newsletter below. I hope you will find it as helpful as I have and that it brings a little slow to your day.
Who else is hooked on slow living ? or just slowing things a little?
